West Corners Lions Club: neighbors serving neighbors since 1962
For more than sixty years, the West Corners Lions Club has done the quiet, practical work this community needs. We test children’s eyesight, read scholarship applications, restock food pantry shelves, and show up for neighbors in the middle of a hard week. We are based in West Corners, just outside the village of Endicott, and we meet in Maine, NY.
What we do
- Vision screening for schoolchildren
- Eye exams and glasses for students
- Scholarships for local students
- Food pantry support
- Holiday clothing and gifts for neighbors in need
- Hearing aids collected and passed on to people who need them
- Eyeglass Collection
Coming up
- Vision screening at Wide Horizon Nursery School, date to be announced.
- Club meeting, Thursday, November 5, 5:30 PM, Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, NY.
- Trunk-or-Treat is Saturday, October 31, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at First Baptist Church, 16 Church Street, Maine, NY. Every child goes home with a book instead of candy. This year’s books are already collected, thank you.
- Turkey Party, Saturday, November 21.
- Christmas tree sales begin Friday, November 27.
How we pay for it
Our fundraisers pay for all of it: chicken BBQs, the Turkey Party, and Christmas tree sales. Every dollar stays close to home.

We do not run membership drives. People find the Lions because they saw the work and wanted in. If that sounds like you, come to a meeting.
